At Light & Wonder, it’s all about the games, and our Gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.Position SummaryThe Animator will be responsible for bringing our games to life by creating eye-catching visual effects and animations for slot machines. Work with a group of exceptionally talented artists and animators creating animations that complement and enhance the slot player’s experience. Essential Job FunctionsCreate art/animation that tells a story with meaning through movementWorks closely with the Art Director and the team to conceptualize, storyboard, prototype and ultimately create high-quality final game art/animations in a timely and efficient mannerProvides creative solutions to artistic and technical problemsSupports engineering development by updating and modifying artwork to meet technical requirementsCreate and animate unique emotive characters and immersive worldsCommunicate game direction through storyboards and animaticsWork quickly and efficiently as part of a team, take direction, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure is crucial.All other duties as assignedQualificationsTraining and/or Experience2+ years of professional experience in 2D/3D animation and/or motion graphic designGaming industry experience is preferred but not requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficiency in industry standard 3D packages (Maya, Blender, 3DMax)Proficient in Adobe After Effects and Adobe PhotoshopAdaptable to AI workflowsProficiency in compositing and rotoscoping a plusFamiliarity with Unity a plusFamiliarity with shaders and shader creation/coding a plusBuilds understanding of business expectationsHave a strong sense of design, motion, and timingHave a strong sense of storyboarding for 2D/3D animationAbility to work well with others in a team environmentAbility to receive art direction and provide multiple design solutionsAbility to adapt to new technologiesEnjoy working in a creative environmentLearns, and contributes where possible to company culture, and finds opportunities to reinforce L&W values.Education:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience requiredPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
